Born in West London, England, Tessa studied art at the Twickenham Art School for 2 years. Then she worked as a fashion sketcher, and illustrated children’s books in London. Having married she moved to Tunbridge Wells in Kent and there she specialised in portraiture and animal paintings and also exhibited landscapes in oils and watercolours. Later she taught adult Education Art classes in Wadhurst College for a few years. She moved to the West Country in 1992 and had her own studio in Yetminster, Dorset, where she continued to teach and also exhibit her work as well as her students paintings. Her husband sadly died in ’96 and she moved a few miles to Glastonbury in Somerset, where she taught art and had several exhibitions. Inspired by the magical countryside, her local paintings reflect her love of this mystical landscape.
