Lyn Mowat

Lyn Mowat graduated from North Staffordshire Polytechnic in 1988 (BA (Hons.) Fine Art) and has been a practising artist continuously since then. She works as a painter but also makes sculpture from time to time. Her paintings are figurative and reflect the energy in nature. They have their roots firmly planted in Mother Earth but allow the spirit to fly free. Although the paintings deal with green issues, green is a colour seldom used.; Mowat favours earth colours and rich textures. Her sculptures are conceptual and are made almost entirely from found objects. They range in size from very small to large scale, some being suited to an outdoor situation.
